POSITIONS AVAILABLE:  

1. Registered Veterinary Technician.

2. Veterinary Assistant.

3. Kennel Assistant.

 

All positions require weekend work, and working late as needed.

 

FULL-TIME PERMANENT POSITIONS:  

 

Registered Veterinary Technician.  Use your skills to their fullest. We are seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual who will be responsible for diagnostic lab work, surgical prep, anesthesia/monitoring, taking radiographs & doing dentals among other duties. Abilities/willingness to draw blood, administer medications and maintain lab & anesthetic equipment are essential. Quality patient care is of the utmost importance. Significant amount of avian work.  You must type at least 45 wpm.

Salary competitive, commensurate with experience. New graduates welcome. If you are willing to learn, we are willing to teach you.  Temple is a growing community, with a small town life. Veterinary Assistant/Veterinary Technician Trainee-Student.  We are looking for an honest, hard-working, responsible, motivated individual to assist the veterinarian in the care of animals at the hospital.  This includes all aspects of hospital and animal cleanliness, as well as direct animal care.  Must be able (or willing to learn) to administer medications, obtain basic vitals, and do basic laboratory work.  Quality patient care is of the utmost importance.  Cleaning is a large part of this position, but the individual must be able to type at least 45 words per minute and have excellent spelling and grammar skills. 

THIS POSITION REQUIRES THAT THE EMPLOYEE ACTIVELY ENROLL AND OBTAIN THEIR RVT/Associate in Veterinary Technology from Cedar Valley College online during their employment.  The Employee must take at least 3 credits per semester in the program specified to retain employment.  Go to http://www.aahanet.org/education/distanceeduc.aspx  for further information.  Costs of the degree are the responsibility of the employee for the first year.  After that, partial to total tuition assistance will be provided.

PART-TIME PERMANENT POSITIONS (possible full-time): 

Kennel Assistant.  We are looking for an honest, hard-working, responsible, motivated individual to assist the veterinarian in the care of animals at the hospital.  This includes all aspects of hospital and animal cleanliness, as well as direct animal care as needed. 

THIS IS A CLEANING POSITION.  Your job is to help all other hospital staff.  Good spelling and grammar skills are necessary to be able to properly convey information within the hospital.  This is not a "play with the animals" job.  Although the bulk of the work does not involve the computer, you must type a verifiable 35 wpm.  Intermittent telephone communications and computer entries are part of this position as are any other tasks as specified by the doctor.

 

Although this is a cleaning position, you are expected to learn the details of the basic information involved in client communication regarding fleas, heartworms, vaccinations and other subjects as indicated by the doctor.  All staff members interact with clients on a regular basis.

If you are currently a full time student - you will be given serious consideration as long as your class schedule is consistent with the needs of the clinic, and you do not have any problems with transportation/punctuality and working late as needed.
