bloodwork
and your
pet
|
Your pet
ages 7 times as fast as we do.
Pets under 6 years old should get their blood
checked for organ function at least once a year. For your puppy or
kitten, we can do this the first time before we do a spay or neuter.
If you are not planning on spaying or neutering your pet immediately, or
if you didn't get it done at that time, now is a good time to do so.
Pets over 6 years old should get their blood
checked every 6 months
When we do initial bloodwork, our goal is to
find if something in your pet is is ailing your pet that we cannot see
on the outside. There are many other tests we can do to find out
specifics, but these tests are what gives us the basics.
Dr. Carpino will recommend the best set
of tests for your pet based on his or her age and health. |
